Eric sat in tonight with Gary Brookers' Band 'No Stiletto Shoes'(which included Andy F-L, Dave Bronze & Frank Mead) at the Ex-Service Men's Club in the sleepy little village of Chiddingfold. About 250 people saw him play for just over an hour on a varied and typical 'Shoes' set. Sadly, this will be the last time he plays there as the hall will be demolished next Summer for a new housing development. He's sat in with this band at this venue many a time unannounced over the years-anyone ever see the famous DVD of this from '89 when he was in top form?
The tracks EC played on were:
Santa Claus is Back In Town Shotgun Get Up (Stand up For Your Rights) Route 66 Gin House Willie & The Hand Jive (EC vcls) Old Black Joe High School Hop Bright Lights Big City Blueberry Hill Lucille You Can't Judge A Book Good Night Irene
Eric was in a very subdued mood (he normally sings a lot more) and his solos weren't over imaginative. His wife was with him, standing side-stage but in the audience Pattie was there as well, amongst many well heeled locals.
